Remember The Call To Love…

Uncategorized

Throughout the day today as I was scrolling through my Facebook posts I saw a recurring theme of my friends sharing support for people who have experienced recent attacks from not just the incidents in Paris, but also for the suffering experienced by so many around the world that get less attention. But this is not going to be one of those posts. I am not going to choose a side, I’m not going to aim to validate one individual’s suffering over another, I’m not going to cast out anger or hatred towards any person, but rather I will aim to touch your heart. In the next few minutes I want to inspire your soul so that your Light can shine where it is needed most.

Today was a heavy day for me as I read through the different articles regarding the attacks in Paris, or the recent attacks in Kenya, or the Middle East, and I could feel the pull of my heart. I could feel the heaviness of the world not around me, but within me. I could feel the fear. I could feel the insecurity. I could feel the doubt. Almost the entire day I was filled with an energy I had not felt for quite some time. Yet this evening I began to feel something else.

As I sat and asked my Self, how can I help the world a passage in a very sacred book came to my mind. One of the most profound and sacred books to my heart, Life and Teachings of the Masters of the Far East, tells a story of an experience with Jesus. A hoard of bandits and murderers began approaching a sacred temple and village. With concern the author of the book asked Jesus what they could do. Jesus replied that he would not return the hatred and anger with which the bandits approached with, but rather send them nothing but Love. The author describes Jesus literally sending forth a beam of Light towards the entrance of the ravine in which the temple was located, and as the bandits reached this point their hatred and anger acted as a mirror upon the wall of Love. As such these bandits’ horses became frightened and began bucking and throwing the bandits from the saddles. In the frenzy the men began shooting and harming each other while also having the hoard of confused horses trampling them. Eventually the bandits laid there, injured or dead as a result of their own doing.

This story has been so profound for me in my life in many ways. The Law of Attraction tells us that “That which is like unto itself is drawn.” We know in quantum physics that in order for a reality to exist, mind must be present to witness its structure. In our own lives we see that when we are truly feel gratitude and expressing that outwardly, we come into contact with other individuals who demonstrate that to us, we see more beauty, more freedom, more Light.

Life is, wholly and truly, an expression of what is happening WITHIN us. The world happening around us, is a metaphor of what is happening within us. How many times a day do you say to yourself how truly beautiful you are? How many times a day do you say thank you to the Source of all life for the blessing of being alive? How often do you truly loo into the eyes of another person with the intent of seeing them for more than the body they possess? How often do you tell yourself “I love you!” We see things happening around us and we think of all that we don’t have, or don’t want, or don’t like and we wonder why there is so much sadness in the world.

We look around at people doing things that we wouldn’t do and we condemn them. We see people saying things we wouldn’t say and we ridicule them. We see someone acting or speaking a certain way and we so rarely choose to see them as more than their words or actions. We so rarely choose to look into their eyes and see the divinity in them. We so rarely choose to acknowledge the Spirit in them yearning to be called forth and them be reminded of who they really are.

You see, what every great master has ever told us is that we need to love our foe as our brother. Jesus said when your brother strikes your cheek, you should offer the other to him also. We find parables like this in all sacred texts and yet we refuse to follow them. We do not offer our brother a helping hand, let alone allow him to harm us. And yet, every great teacher has only taught us one thing: fear is not real, and only Love exists.

Fear is a reminder that you have separated yourself from Spirit. Love is the presence of your unity with Spirit. When we are shown acts of violence our reaction is to immediately attack the attacker. When we witness violent acts we do not love that person anyways, we ridicule him and berate him, which simply exacerbates feelings of isolation and separation. We have forgotten that we not only belong to each other, but that we are each other. We have forgotten that there is a single Presence, a single field of Love, and that we all exist in and as that.

martin luther king jr quote, best life coach, inspirational quoteIn times of collective fear, to further increase that fear through your own emotional field does nothing to bring forth Love. In times of darkness, more darkness is unnecessary. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only Light can do that.” In times of others’ suffering you must be reminded of the field of Love that is all that exists. You must stand forth in your strength, knowing fully that you are supported by the hoard of Heaven, and claim undoubtedly that only Love can heal. Not once have you every heard of fear healing. Not once have you ever heard of doubt healing. Not once have you ever heard of blame healing. Yet you have heard of gratitude healing. You have heard of kindness healing. You have heard of compassion healing. You have heard of Love healing.

In times of tragedy, it is not time to blame, and berate, and fight against. In times of tragedy, it is time to show compassion, kindness, Love. How can you help an individual or collective through anger and hatred and condemnation? You can’t. It is not possible to help anyone through the recognition of their unworthiness. You can only help anyone through your recognition of their Light. In your acknowledgment of someone else’s beauty, only then can you affect change. No figure of change ever was praised for telling people how bad they were. The most influential people of history, the ones who are praised for their service to humanity, spoke to the souls of others. They reminded you of your ability to be good. They reminded you of your ability to have compassion. They reminded you of your ability to be kind. They reminded you of your ability to see beauty in others. They reminded you of your ability to Love, and to Love unconditionally!

My friends, those of you reading this, this is your reminder. Don’t get caught in the disillusionment of the “outside.” You know all too well of your ability to affect others for their betterment and to be their reminder. You also know all too well that this can only come from the inside out. We must be the guide for others to follow, be the Light in the darkness so that others may light their own candle. My friends, my dear brothers and sisters, YOU have to be the change for the world. If you get lost in the woods, remember the path is always right next to you, waiting for you to remind others that it is right there…just below the head and about the gut.

All My Love,

Zach ❤

Spiritual Workout of the Day:

Heart Breathing…

This is a simply heart meditation/breathing technique which enables you to ground yourself and consciously connect to your heart and intuition.

Start by finding a comfortable sitting position. Close your eyes and place your right hand over your heart. Keeping your mouth gently closed begin breathing in and out through your nose. Allow your breathing to naturally move into your belly, feeling your belly expand as you inhale and relax as you exhale. Once you feel your abdomen moving with your breath, focus your awareness on your heart. Begin to feel your heart breathing you. Feel your heart expand as you inhale and relax as you exhale. Maintain your awareness on your heart, expanding and contracting with each breath. Continue as long as you would like with this meditation, but at least 5 minutes.

Stop Justifying Your Well-Being

Justifying the well-being that is naturally flowing to you is completely unnecessary. Well-being is flowing to and through you at all times. However, it is completely up to you to allow the flow of Source through you.

A Story of Faith…

Uncategorized

I was around 15 years old when my dad and I were watching the MTV Video Music Awards when Beyonce won best artist. She walked up on stage, overwhelmed, and said, “First and foremost I’d like to thank God.” When I heard that I blurted out, “Why is she thanking God, he didn’t do anything, she did all the work!” My dad looked at me and replied, “What do you mean? The reason you’re here is because of God!” I thought for a second, pondering life, and that’s when things started to change in my consciousness.Spiritual Awakening

Now this isn’t your average story of God. This isn’t a tale of a man becoming Christian, this isn’t about me blasting my beliefs and forcing them in anyone’s face, this is a different kind of story.

As a kid, our family were the typical, go to church on holiday, kind of church goers. My parents were both raised Catholic and seemed to have consistent views on their beliefs of God. I, however, thought church was incredibly boring, listening to an old white guy in a funny hat repeat boring scripture. When I got into middle school, I joined a Baptist church with my best friend and found myself more interested in the message of the bible. However, the stories were exactly that to me, stories. I didn’t truly believe a man walked on water, healed the sick, died and came back to life, it seemed like a great story, but a story nonetheless. Needless to say, when I was young I never developed a relationship with any higher power. I knew that if I put in the work to achieve what I wanted, I would reap the benefits. That was until I went through 5 years of chemotherapy treatment after having cancer twice as an adolescent.

You see, when I was 15 and watched Beyonce thank God I thought that was a cop-out. I truly felt she was just being diplomatic and didn’t actually thank God. My dad’s response was in reference to my still being alive after having already gone through my first year of chemotherapy and still being alive. I however, felt differently. I felt that as a result of myself, as a result of ME, that I was in remission. That changed within a year.

At 16 I relapsed and had a much different experience that time. I was no longer isolated in a room with no other kids around. This time I was in a hepa-fitered pediatric oncology ward and saw kids as young as 1 year old with tubes coming out of their chests receiving chemo. I looked around and thought, “What kind of God would do this?! How can we believe in God if He has the power to heal and yet all these kids are sick?!” It made no sense to me. This questioning took me down the rabbit hole.

When I was 19 I was given the documentary, The Secret, by a friend of my dads and that’s when it clicked. If you have not seen this documentary, I highly recommend you see it. However, the basis of the film is on the Law of Attraction. A law that is similar to the laws of gravity, yet not as recognized or understood by humanity. This law describes that “That which is like unto itself is drawn,” meaning, like attracts like. This film explains that thoughts are the creative force of all life and that the universe at large is responding to our thoughts and bringing us experiences which match those thoughts. As soon as I saw this film it was as if I was in heaven! I thought, “FINALLY!!! Something that gives me validation that I am the director of my own life and I will never have to rely on anything or anyone ever again!!!” Boy did I interpret that wrong!! 😉

That was 9 years ago and I have just recently in the last 3-4 years begun to develop a true relationship with God. And honestly, only the last year have I begun to develop a strong faith in the co-creative dance that happens between my thoughts, words, and actions and the manifestations of God.

Why I began writing today was because I felt inspired. 10 years ago I wouldn’t have had any idea was inspiration was, that I should just do something. I had no understanding of what was guiding me or why I had such a feeling, simply that I should do it. Now even though I stated earlier that I never cultivated a relationship with the Divine as a child, I always felt like I was being guided. I always had this intense push from within that told me I had to be strong and push on, no matter what the obstacle. Everything in my life was just an obstacle so that I could get stronger and rise above it. Today I finally understand what was guiding me.

You see, no matter if you choose to believe it or not, there is a Presence that directs all things. Not direction in the form of dictation, but a mere guidance to the path of truth. The trees are not forced to grow, yet they are guided to move to full size and provide oxygen, bear fruit, create homes for insects and other critters. Insects and animals are guided to build dams, collect nectar, dance among the sky, never forced yet always guided. Similarly, this Presence guides us home. This Presence, whether you call it God, or Source, or energy, it does not matter, you do not influence Perfection, perfection influences you.How to Change the World, new earth

As such, seeing as that this Presence is the Source of all that Is, the Source of All Life, this Presence knows beyond a question of a doubt which path is right for you in any area of your life. As an extension of this Presence, you have the choice to connect fully with this Divine Mind, or pinch yourself off It. It does not matter to Source what you choose in the moment because we are all free to do as we please, yet the joy of a child coming home far outweighs the choice of the child to stay away and not come and visit. Source is always beckoning us home, always reminding us in the most of subtle ways to return home, to return to our hearts.

You see, there was a time in my life where I thought I was all alone, doing it all by my lonesome. And it wasn’t until I realized it was much harder going at it alone than it was to challenge my beliefs and listen to that inner voice, the Voice telling me that I was looked after and protected. The Voice that guided me to the books and the documentaries and the constant reminder to return to Love.

You see my friends, this is a story of faith. Faith does not belong to religion. Faith is a state of being. Faith is a habitual practice of communicating with Source, with your Self. Faith is so much better than sitting alone wondering which direction you will take and weighing all the outcomes. Faith is about quieting yourself, quieting your mind, and with a clear intention listening to the Voice that has been guiding you anyways. As soon as you’re quiet, you will hear that Voice whisper, “This way my child, I’ll be right beside you the whole way.”

Zach

Physical Workout of the Day:

“J.T.”

My Time = 12:38

Shauna’s Time = 18:01 (15-12-9 reps)

Mental Workout of the Day:

“Wouldn’t It Be Nice..” Game

Today’s mental workout will be focused on playing the “wouldn’t it be nice if…” game. Set a timer for 10 minutes and close your eyes. Say to your self, “Wouldn’t it be nice if…” and finish the sentence with what it is you are desiring. Play this as if you are imagining all the possibilities you have ever desired. Start with the things that you don’t have a lot of resistance against, such as “Wouldn’t it be nice if someone told me I had a nice smile.” Things that really you don’t have a lot of resistance against. As you do this, really feel what it would be like to have someone tell you that you have a nice smile. After you have begun to feel more uplifted move on to the things that you are REALLY desiring. You could say, “Wouldn’t it be nice if I met the perfect partner for me and had a nice conversation with them.” As you play this, remember that it is key to FEEL the feeling of being in the situation, experiencing what it is like to be in actual circumstance. Continue playing this until you are truly feeling better or until the timer goes off.

Physical Workout of the Day:

My Time = 17:11 (95 lb Overhead Squats)

Shauna’s Time = 19:40 (71 lb Back Squats)

Mental Workout of the Day:

Visualizing Your Desires…

For today’s meditation we will practice putting ourselves in the place of already having achieved our desires. Seeing as that all of our realities are fully and truly just a manifestation of what is happening internally with us, we are going to aim to direct that reality into experiencing something magical.

You can set a 10 minute alarm for this or you can simply do it as long as you please. Finding either a comfortable laying or seated position, close your eyes and begin to imagine something that you have been thinking about recently, it could be a new relationship, better physical health, a better career path, but imagine yourself being in that situation. If at first this is difficult, say to yourself, “Wouldn’t it be nice if…” and follow with the desired situation until you are able to see yourself in the circumstance you are wanting. Once you are there, play with what it feels like to be in the relationship, or having the partner, or going to work at your desired career path. FEEL how wonderful it is to be living in the experience! Stay there as long as you like and/or move on to a new desired outcome. Once you feel complete, just sit or lay there for a few minutes and let it sink in to your consciousness. Feel how amazing it is to be living such a life. When you open your eyes, know that you have set an energetic wave in motion which is attracting the exact desires and manifestations into your life.

Physical Workout of the Day:

As Many Rounds As Possible In 20 Minutes:

My Rounds = 8 Rounds + 7 Squats

Shauna’s Rounds = 8 Rounds

Mental Workout of the Day:

Contemplation…

Today’s workout will be contemplation. This exercise can be akin to meditation in the process and the end result, however your mind will be much more active than in quiet meditation. Set a timer for 10-15 minutes and find a comfortable sitting or lying position. Close your eyes and consider a possible query you have been contemplating as of late. Bring this to the forefront of your mind and begin to look at this from a different perspective. Ask yourself why you are contemplating this. Ask yourself why this affects your life. Ask yourself why this is important to you. After you have done this, you can then ask if you can do something about this query. Is it possible to change what you are contemplating? If you are just contemplating the vastness of the universe, you can ask yourself, “why is the brilliance of the universe important to me?” When you have found that answer, ask yourself if it is truly important to your life. If it happens to be a discrepancy with a lover, friend, or acquaintance, do the same process. Just ask yourself these simple questions and see if they can’t shift your perspective if that is what you are searching for.
