Hi friends, I wanted to share with you 4 tips that were helpful to me when I was beginning my meditation practice. These tips aren’t just for beginner meditators, but also for those who have been trying for a while and still find difficulties with their practice. After 14 years of daily meditation practice I have quite a bit of experience knowing what doesn’t work for myself and I hope that these tips will help you with your own practice.

Just remember to breathe. Everything else will fall into place.

I wanted to share some insights with you that greatly helped me overcome my fear and anxiety. I also wanted to share what practices that most benefited me in overcoming my fear and anxiety. This is merely a video of the knowledge and wisdom that greatly helped me live the most joyful and free life possible. It is in no way to minimize the hardships of fear and anxiety. Yet, these principles are so profound that when we can truly accept the truth that we will get sick, we will die, and all of life will change life can open up for us and we can see that each moment is a blessing. The simple teachings of Buddha and his four noble truths can have a profound effect on our ability to let go of fear and anxiety. I hope that these will help you as much as they helped me.

So here are 3 reasons meditation is necessary to manifest your desires!!

Obviously these are not the ONLY 3 reasons why you should meditate. However, for our purposes here I wanted to give you 3 reasons why meditation is necessary for you to manifest your stuff…to get the goods!!

There are far more than 3 reasons to meditate…as there are a plethora of benefits in all areas of our lives (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual health) that meditation has.

The 3 reasons are:
1) Release resistance to well-being
2) Increase your vibrational frequency
3) Increase awareness of well-being flowing in to your life
BONUS 4) Spiritual growth

Physical Workout of the Day:

My Rounds = 5 + 15 Jumping Lunges

Shauna’s Rounds = 4 + 14 Push-Ups

Mental Workout of the Day:

LOVE Meditation

Today’s process will be a practice in loving yourself. Start with your heart on your eyes closed in a comfortable seated position. This is simply because you want to be awake for the majority of this meditation and lying may cause you to fall asleep.

Place your right hand over the center of your chest where your heart is located. Place your left palm facing upward, resting on your lap. Close your eyes and feel the breath move down into your belly as you inhale. As you exhale, feel the belly fall and the rib cage simply depress. After 5-10 breaths, take your attention to where your right hand is on your heart. Focus on the warmth you feel between your hand and your chest. This is going to be your place of focus for the remainder of the meditation.

As you breath, feel the connection between your hand and heart. Affirm to yourself, “my heart is the core of my physical body and the reminder of who I am and why I am here.” This will remain your affirmation. Go as deeply as you wish with this meditation, allowing your hand to almost feel as if it is on fire with the love expressed from your heart. You can remove your hand as soon as you feel that you are finished, do not put a time limit on this meditation, it could be 2 minutes, it could be 20…just go with it.

My Rounds = 6 + 1 K2E (24 inch box)

Shauna’s Rounds = 6 + 6 BBJ (18 inch box)

Spiritual Workout of the Day:

Mantra Meditation

Today’s workout is for aligning with a single pointed mindset through our meditation. The 3 mantras to choose from during this meditation will be “I AM,” “I am Love,” or “I am protected.” For this meditation find a comfortable sitting position or lying position. Set a timer for 15-20 minutes and start it. Uncross all of your limbs and close you eyes. Bring your awareness to your breath and begin feeling the rise and fall of your abdomen, breathing in and out through your nose. Your focus for the first few minutes will be on allowing your breath to move from your chest and into your abdomen. Do not control the depth or speed of your breath, allow it to be, yet simply guide its movement from the chest and move it into the belly. Once the breath has moved into the belly you will begin your mantra. For the first mantra, as you inhale you will say “I” and as you exhale saying “AM.” For the second and/or third mantra, as you inhale you will say ” I am” and as you exhale you will say “Love/protected” depending on which mantra you choose is right for you today. Continue with that pattern until your timer goes off.

Mental Workout of the Day:

100 Things I’m Grateful For…

Today’s process is strictly to help raise our vibrational rate so that we can allow the flow of love and appreciation to dominate our cells and allow the law of attraction to bring us more things to be grateful for, and to begin to restructure the neuron cross-bridges in our brain.

Get out a piece of paper and expect to do this process for roughly 10-20 minute. At the top of the page write, “100 Things I’m Grateful For…” and begin. You don’t have to be elaborate with what you’re grateful for but do your best to specific, such as “My ability to move my body and exercise,” rather than just “health” or “exercise.” Write until you have your 100 things to be grateful for. If you just can’t think of things to be grateful for, write as many as you can and then come back to it later in the day. This process moves your attention toward points of gratitude, and by the law of attraction, this will bring other thoughts similar to it into your awareness. Also, this will soften our vibration so that we open the door to the things we have been waiting for, and that the Almighty has been pushing into our experience.

“It’s not human nature to resist change, it is the ego’s way of diminishing growth. All of life is changing in front of us. The trees grow without resistance, the leaves change, and rebloom, the cells in our body are consistently changing and replicating, and the only thing that resists change is our own fear of the unknown. Nature, the Universe, God, doesn’t resist change, but rather welcomes it. As an extension of the Universe you love change. However if you allow yourself to feel fearful because you don’t have faith that you are protected by the Universe, by God, then you resist change. And the funniest thing is that Spirit wants so badly for you to change because energy is always moving. Spirit wants so badly for you to let go and trust that the stream you are on is taking you to your destination…but because you don’t know that your destination is at the bottom, you paddle upstream! You get so fearful that you paddle the wrong direction and it’s exhausting!! The question I always ask is, “If you’re not happy with the results you’re getting, with the life you’re living, don’t you think that it would be beneficial to change the way you think, act, and live?”

Workout of the Day October 26, 2015

Physical Workout of the Day:

This workout is done on a continuously running clock. Start the timer and for the first 60 seconds do 1 power clean and rest the remaining time of that 60 seconds. When it hits the second minute (61-120) seconds do 2 power cleans and rest the remaining time of that minute. When it hits the third minute (121-180 seconds) do 3 power cleans and rest the remaining minute. The time stops when you can no longer do the amount of power cleans required in the corresponding minute.

Shauna’s Rounds = 11 + 10 reps (65 lbs)

My Rounds = 11 + 8 reps (95 lbs)

Mental Workout of the Day:

Gratitude Meditation

For today’s workout we will start by setting a timer for 15 minutes and finding a comfortable sitting position. Place your hands on your lap with your palms facing upward and close your eyes. Gently, take your awareness to the movement of your breath in and out of your nose. Do not force the breath, but rather let the breath be and let it move you. As you breathe in you will say silently to yourself, “I AM,” and as you breathe out silently say to yourself, “grateful.” Do your best to maintain this mantra for the entirety of the meditation. If thoughts come into your awareness, recognize them and then return your focus to the mantra. You may even begin to change the words and begin replacing “grateful” which is completely okay and a natural process of the meditation.
